11/2016 The 6th Solo Exhibition: “Bamboo” is the first thing that comes to me when I think of “Damyang County.” “Bamboo” is the first thing that comes to me when I think of “Damyang County.” Having Chuwol Mountain on its north and the fields of gold on its south, Damyang is such a great place geologically. Also, Medeung Mountain isn’t far away from Damyang. Due to its location well associated with nature, Damyang has been considered as one of the best places in terms of Feng Shui. It is not coincidence that there have been many historical figures, including, but not limited to Woochi Jeon, Chul Jeong, Kyung-Myung Koh. From 2015, I have explored various places in Damyang - Hot Springs, Arboretum, Bamboo Garden, and Chuwol Mountain. All these great places have been my inspiration to materialize my thoughts and imaginations. Throughout my work, I’ve tried to mix the ideas with the real scenery to realize my vision. In this exhibition, one media art work and five drawings are featured to share my spiritual connection to Damyang.
